Majority of the UK want a vote on the Brexit deal…

by Jackie Porter on 12 December, 2017

Poll shows majority want vote on the deal
A poll by YouGov and Best for Britain shows that 53% of people would like a final vote on the deal either via a referendum or through MPs voting in Westminster. The poll has been welcomed by the Liberal Democrats who are the only major party that wants to give the people a say on the final deal.

Liberal Democrat Brexit spokesperson Tom Brake MP said:
“This poll supports two other recent polls, by the Mail on Sunday and Left Foot Forward, showing that the majority of people now support having a vote on the final deal.

“People are clearly worried by the incompetence shown by the government on Brexit. What are the Brexiteers afraid of? The people should have a choice on whatever deal Theresa May finally brings back from Brussels, including the option of an exit from Brexit.

“Theresa May and her weak, divided cabinet are running scared from the verdict of the British people.”
