Implications of the OUT vote may now become realities as Tory Brexit ministers show true colours

by Jackie Porter on 24 June, 2016

A message from Craig Bennett, CEO of Friends of the Earth, reveals the future…..

”The result is in – we are leaving the EU.

This means that many of our environmental and nature protections are now at risk.

Being part of the EU gave us cleaner beaches and drinking water, less air pollution and protected our wildlife. I don’t want to lose these safeguards and I’m sure you don’t either.

We now have to massively ramp up our nature campaigning to make sure these protections aren’t lost.

During the Brexit campaign Farming Minister and leading Leave campaigner George Eustice described wildlife protection laws as “spirit-crushing”, and stated his desire to get rid of laws protecting our finest habitats and birds altogether.

We can’t let this happen.”
