Dr. Danny Chambers is already a trustee of a mental health charity, and an elected member of Council of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. His concern for human health has extended worldwide, and well wishers sent messages from across the globe.

The Liberal Democrats’ principal concern now is how to get our healthcare system working better for all of us. Starting at the cause closest to many people’s hearts- care. Many carers are unpaid, and carers do a good job in the face of poor pay in the sector . This must change if we want to protect our NHS services.

At a recent Sir Ed Davey visit to Winchester, local resident Ellie took the opportunity to talk to the Lib Dem Leader about how her mother has been the principal care provider in their family. Her mum Christine is an excellent carer but Ellie knows that this means careers are often ‘on hold’ and the responsibility of care experience can be a burden. Ed Davey talked carefully to Ellie, reassuring that it is a privilege to care for someone you love.

Danny and the Lib Dems want to help all families tackle their high cost of living: we hear too many reports of food banks are used by nurses, working families, -even vets- and hear of schools where children are starting their school day hungry. This has to change.

A third aim in Danny’s and the Lib Dem manifesto is to improve the quality of water in our waterways and seas. Danny has already embarked on local campaigns to protect our waterways in Hampshire, and in particular in the constituency.

If you want to receive notice of Danny’s record in Parliament register for updates at https://www.mysociety.org

They’ve just added Danny’s name to the site ‘They work For You’. It gives you a real insight into MP’s Parliamentary voting records as they are made. There won’t be much on the site for a while (probably until after the King’s speech now) and I will update you on the decisions being made in Parliament on these and other issues by our new MP, Dr Danny Chambers, in the future.

The final tally of Lib Dem MP’s in Government is 72. Thank you to everyone who supported Danny’s campaign, including our voters of course!
