Jackie is continuing to campaign for a part time train fare scheme
You can do so too by signing up on http://www.bettertransport.org.uk
• Night time front entrance opening of stations with staff available where trains stop at the station until late at night, (eg: Winchester station closes the front door at 9pm or so- trains stop there 20 of the 24 hours a day)
• Taking off the 3 and 2 seating on longer journeys of an hour or more- these seats are difficult to sit in for any length of time, and the three seats do not have enough shoulder width for three adult passengers.
• Improving the broadband speeds on all trains- at busy times, the service is non existent or inadequate, making ‘taking the train’ to use the time to work, a poor option.
• Ensuring toilet facilities on trains are available at all times whilst the trains are running.
• Ensuring toilet facilities at all stations are available for abled/disabled during the times that passengers will be waiting or alighting at that station. This should be case for waiting facilities too.
• Ensuring that bike facilities on the trains are better run- no limit of three bikes per train, and better access to areas near to the station forecourt for bike hire at all stations
• Disabled access to stations must be improved: clearly described at each station, and ideally upgraded to enable disabled passengers to alight at every station.
• When a train has to wait at a station for freight to pass by, can the train be opened for passenger access there? (this relates specifically to Micheldever)
• More parking at all stations, including intermediate ones
• Carnet type ticketing scheme to allow cheaper season tickets for those who travel/work part time
