This article from RSN online tells us that Hampshire is one of six rural authorities that can access a new fund of £500,000 to tackle flooding.
Although not a great deal of money, it does aim to cut the bureaucracy behind the bids so we ashould see more of it as improvements on the ground-and less as money spent on consultants and hours behind a desk!As an update, the Worthys planned work has all been done now– and I am waiting for confirmation that Sutton Scotney’s work is complete too.
As the rain is falling very hard today, this news is welcome- but I really wonder why HCC is continuing to REDUCE the number of times that gulleys are cleared every year- which leads to blocked drains and ultimately- flooding again.
