I popped into talk to Sharon, Chris and the team this morning. The pub is still open- and the coffee is very good!
The pub is open for business as usual despite the flooding outside.
The Highways team at HCC has blocked off one entrance with sandbags to hold back the water flowing along Lovedon Lane.
This isn’t to protect the pub specifically, but to make sure that residents in Kings Close aren’t completely flooded out. HCC placed more bags on that side too- but the ground water levels are high there too, so the water may not drain away.

With real cuts to the budgets(imposed by Govt): HCC says it will cut the budget by £93million in 15/16) the County has to make choices about what is important.
I expect they will say they don’t have the money to tackle this.
But they have more than £300 million in reserves, waiting for a rainy day. This is the Rainy Day!! Residents want the Council and The Environment Agency to take drastic action to stop the worry of this happening again.
