Crossing the A33 could become easier as County agree to commission a study for the Worthys

by Jackie Porter on 20 October, 2012

CROSSING THE ROAD AT ABBOTS WORTHY IS REALLY DIFFICULT FOR PARENTS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN

Jackie met a County design engineer on site at the A33 in the Worthys to look at improving the experience of crossing the junction for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers. Jackie will meet him again in early December.

”Inevitably the Barton Farm decision will have a bearing on the design of this area,” says Jackie, ”but that won’t happen for years yet. I receive pleas for the County to help now!”

We agreed the key aims of any design work would be

to make it easier for pedestrians to cross the A33 and the London Road in front of the post office,
to make it easier for east and west bound traffic to turn right, and
    to slow down traffic here
