Bus journeys all changed on the 30th October but there is still a great deal of unhappiness about the new routes, and in particular:

• the lack of morning services to Alresford
• the long gaps between the buses at Winchester
• the lack of a Sunday service
• the even poorer evening services
• no services through Jesty Road, Nursery Road, Sun Lane, Tichborne Down

The bus cuts brought a round of changes in October but all Winchester area services are being re-tendered for a new timetable in June 2012.

The tender document for the 67 service is being prepared now,(deadline end November) and I want as many people as possible to complain to HCC  about the impact that the new service has had on their lives.

Please take these 3 actions:

• write to Cllr Mel Kendal at the County council (mel.kendal@hants.gov.uk) to tell him what impact the service changes on the (new) 67  have had on you and your family.
• go to www.winld.org.uk   and complete the ‘Better Buses’  survey– it is a way of finding out what other services you would like to see- a bit of ‘blue sky thinking’ if you like. We want to try a night bus service, for example.
• encourage other people to do the same thing. If they are not on the internet, they should write to Cllr Mel Kendal, HCC, The Castle, Winchester SO23 8UJ (and if possible, a copy to me please)
