Manchester : a dreadful attack. Our hearts go out to the children and their families

by Jackie Porter on 23 May, 2017

What human could do this to others?

Our hearts go out to the young people who were victims of this dreadful attack.

We have all seen our children off to concerts and kissed them goodbye, knowing they will have a great time. We never think they won’t come home. For some families today, this is the dreadful reality.

Others will be scarred physically and mentally by the evening’s events.

We do so much to protect young people.

I cannot imagine why or how the perpetrator of this terrible event was motivated to kill innocent young people and destroy families.

Tim Farron, Leader of the Liberal Democrats, has said:

“This is a shocking and horrific attack targeting children and young people who were simply enjoying a concert.

“My deepest sympathies are with the victims, and with families who have lost loved ones, as well as those desperately waiting for news.

“I would like to pay tribute to the bravery and dedication of the emergency services.

“This is an attack on innocent people and the nation is united both in its grief and its determination to stand up to this deplorable attack.”
